Long time no post. My Modern History series got featured over at Art Fag City, and my Call of Duty piece is the masthead for the week. So that is pretty cool. I like that blog a lot.
Also I was recently commissioned to do a piece for a pretty large magazine, which was very exciting, unfortunately, the article was rewritten and subsequently cut. It was a major bummer, but I gained a lot of experience and some contacts along the way. I’ll post a jpeg of what I came up with once I all the paperwork is done with, kill fees sent, etc.
I only mention this because it was my first glimpse at what it might be like as a real working artist. It was almost surreal, but it made me very optimistic. It made my goals more concrete, some real thing that I may actually be able to reach some day. When it comes down to it, it’s about work. Good things happen when you work hard and work a lot. Speaking of work, I’ve been sort of burnt out on the Modern History collages, especially since that article got cut, so I’ve been shooting at my friends Ben, Ben, and Noah’s house where I’m living for the month before I head to Oregon for the summer. Here is a sneak peak at one of the images…
